Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Portrea is operated by Shazoo s.r.o., a company registered in Czech Republic, with registered office at Příčná 4, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic. IČO: TODO_IČO.

When these Terms refer to “we”, “us”, or “our”, they mean Shazoo s.r.o. When they refer to “you” or “your”, they mean the person using the service.

2. The service

Portrea is an AI-powered professional headshot generator. You upload selfie photos, and our system uses artificial intelligence to generate polished portrait photos suitable for LinkedIn profiles, CVs, and professional communications.

We offer three one-time purchase tiers:

  • Essential — 40 generated portraits
  • Most Popular — 80 generated portraits
  • Maximum — 120 generated portraits

Each tier is a single, one-time payment. There are no subscriptions, recurring charges, or hidden fees. Your generated portraits are delivered digitally to your account for download.

3. Contract formation

A binding contract between you and Shazoo s.r.o. is formed at the moment your payment is confirmed. You will receive a confirmation email, and portrait generation will begin immediately after payment is processed.

By completing a purchase, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into this contract.

4. Right of withdrawal (EU customers)

If you are a consumer located in the European Union, you normally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving any reason, under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).

However, under Article 16(m) of the Directive, this right of withdrawal does not apply to digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium once performance has begun — provided that:

  • you have explicitly requested that we begin delivery of the digital content immediately; and
  • you have acknowledged that you will lose your right of withdrawal once we begin.

We capture both of these consents at checkout before you complete your purchase. Once portrait generation has begun, the statutory 14-day withdrawal right no longer applies.

This does not affect your rights under our voluntary 7-day satisfaction guarantee described in Section 5 below.

5. Our 7-day satisfaction guarantee

We stand behind the quality of our service. Independently of any statutory rights, we offer a voluntary 7-day satisfaction guarantee: if you are not satisfied with your generated portraits for any reason, email us at hello@portrea.cz within 7 days of your purchase, and we will issue a full refund. No questions asked.

This guarantee is our commitment to you and is separate from — and in addition to — any statutory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law.

6. Acceptable use

When using Portrea, you agree that:

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • The photos you upload depict only yourself, or individuals who have explicitly consented to being processed by the service.
  • You will not use the service to create deceptive, fraudulent, or misleading content, or to impersonate another person without their consent.
  • You will use the generated portraits only for lawful personal or professional purposes — such as LinkedIn profiles, CVs, company directories, and professional communications.
  • You will not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise misuse the platform.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who violates these conditions.

7. Intellectual property

Your generated portraits

You own all rights to the portrait photos generated for you. You may use them for any personal or commercial purpose without restriction — including publishing them publicly, using them in commercial contexts, or modifying them.

Your uploaded photos

You retain all rights to the photos you upload. By uploading them, you grant Shazoo s.r.o. a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process those photos solely for the purpose of generating your portraits. This licence terminates when your uploaded photos are deleted from our systems.

Our platform

The Portrea service, platform, software, visual design, and trademarks remain the property of Shazoo s.r.o. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you.

AI model training

We do not use your uploaded photos to train AI models. Your photos are processed by Google’s Gemini API for the sole purpose of generating your portraits, and are subject to Google’s Terms of Service.

8. AI-generated content disclaimer

Portrait generation is performed by artificial intelligence. AI results vary by input photo, lighting conditions, and other factors. We cannot guarantee any specific visual outcome, likeness accuracy, or style result for any individual set of photos.

If you are unhappy with your results, our 7-day satisfaction guarantee (Section 5) is the primary remedy we offer. We encourage you to contact us before requesting a refund — in some cases we may be able to improve results by re-running the generation.

9. Payment

All purchases are one-time payments. We do not store your payment card details — payments are processed securely by our payment providers.

  • EU and Malaysia: Payments are processed by Stripe. Shazoo s.r.o. is the merchant of record.
  • UAE: Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), which acts as the merchant of record. Your purchase contract for UAE orders is with Paddle, not Shazoo s.r.o. Paddle’s own terms and conditions apply to the payment transaction.

All prices are displayed inclusive of applicable VAT or other sales taxes where required by local law. The final price shown at checkout is the total amount you will be charged.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you in connection with any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, including loss of business, loss of profit, or reputational harm, to the extent permitted by law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, including Act No. 89/2012 Sb. (the Civil Code) and Act No. 634/1992 Sb. (the Consumer Protection Act).

If you are a consumer habitually resident in an EU member state, this choice of law does not deprive you of the mandatory consumer protection provisions of the law of your country of residence, in accordance with Article 6 of Regulation (EC) No. 593/2008 (Rome I).

12. Jurisdiction

Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Prague, Czech Republic — unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

If you are a consumer in an EU member state, you also have the right to bring proceedings before the courts of the country where you are habitually resident, in accordance with Regulation (EU) No. 1215/2012 (Brussels Ia).

13. Dispute resolution

We hope to resolve any concerns directly — please contact us at hello@portrea.cz as a first step.

If you are an EU consumer and we are unable to resolve your complaint, you may submit it to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body. In the Czech Republic, the competent ADR authority is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI).

EU consumers may also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email before the change takes effect. The updated Terms will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.

Continued use of the service after a material change has taken effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you may stop using the service.
